On this tour you will learn about the recovery, reforestation, and conservation of the " Mountain of Fire ". You will see the Eruption Chamber and enter the blast zone where you will view blown down timber, avalanche debris, and mud flow. From the Coldwater Ridge Visitor Center , you will be able to see the crater and lava dome of Mt. St. Helens . After 24 years of recovery, you will see the incredible and amazing sight of beauty.
The mountain is located approximately 90 miles from Seattle, but the drive to the highest vistor center takes over three hours. We will stop along the way to learn more about the mountain as well as take a photo or two. This eco-tour will set you back to the realities of our smallness and the vast, overwhelming power of nature.
